SMUG #13 - What will it cover??

Hi everyone,

Daryl asked the following question in the group page:

"Can we have a comment on how advanced this will be and whether it's focusing
exclusively on VMWare or not (my last place was all VMWare and we ran MySQL)
- if it's *too* 101 I'm worried it might not be valuable for my org."

I asked the question to Andre Leibovici in the wave we created and he replied
the below. I'm reproducing here since no everyone has joined the wave.

"Hi Andre, I guess we will start with a retrospect of virtualization as it has
been around for over 10 years, then dig down a little bit on what features
hypervisor bring to the infrastructure and how they leverage uptime for
organisations. It will be focused more on VMware as it is currently the product
with the largest number of deployments and features, however all concepts can
be applied to any hypervisor. What is hypervisor? Then we will talk about database
performance on virtual environment, Licensing,Oracle support, and finally a
little bit of Cloud. No, this will not bea technical deep dive."

Cheers,
André
