Hello, everyone,

We have a particular treat for anyone interested in broadening their skill set.
Our next mixed-group Meetup will feature a Virtualization paper presented by an expert guest speaker. Andre Leibovic, from Diaxion, will talk about "Virtualization 101 and a brief look of how it can help your organization". He'll touch upon the following topics:

  • The history and types of virtualization.
  • What features will leverage your infrastructure and reduce downtime.
  • Overview of database virtualization, performance benchmarking and licensing models.
  • Are we ready for the Cloud?

Please note that this presentation is database agnostic and therefore the lessons learned can be applied to many facets of your environment.

Andre Leibovici is an IT professional with over 15 years industry experience in managing IT infrastructures in large organizations. For the last few years his passion has been around Virtualization, VDI and Cloud Computing. He holds MCSE, VCP 3/4, ITIL V3 certifications and was recently awarded with the VMware Virtual Desktop Ingenuity Award '2009.
